Frequently Asked Questions
FAQs
What type of workout do you offer?
At The Core Collective, we offer a unique blend of high-intensity, low-impact training rooted in pilates and strength training—designed to sculpt, strengthen, and challenge your body in all the right ways.
Our signature classes are performed on the Megaformer and focus on slow, controlled movements that build deep core strength, improve endurance, and leave you feeling empowered. We also offer off-the-machine classes—typically hosted offsite—that draw inspiration from Pilates and athletic conditioning, combining breath, alignment, and burn for a full-body experience, no equipment required.
Every class is thoughtfully designed to deliver intensity without impact, helping you build long, lean muscle and a stronger connection to your body.
Do I need prior experience?
Not at all. Every class at The Core Collective is designed to be accessible to all levels—whether it’s your first time or your 100th. There’s no “beginner class” because we believe in building a community where everyone moves together.
There is a natural learning curve but that’s part of the process. Our instructors are there to guide you, and having more experienced clients in the room creates a supportive atmosphere—you’ll find it helpful to glance around, take cues, and settle into your own rhythm.
What matters most is showing up with body awareness, a willingness to learn, and an openness to challenge yourself. We’ll take care of the rest.
How long is the new client 3-class package valid?
Our New Client Special—3 classes for $45—is valid for 30 days from the date of purchase. All three classes must be used within that 30-day window, so you can get a feel for the studio, try different instructors, and start building your routine.
Will I be allowed in if I show up late?
NEW clients will not be allowed in late. We have a 5-minute grace period for all classes for returning clients only. After that, the studio door will be locked, and your spot may be given to someone on the waitlist. We recommend arriving a few minutes early to ensure you’re ready to start on time.
What is your cancellation policy?
We ask that all cancellations be made at least 10 hours in advance for non-members and members on 4/8x a month memberships and 8 hours in advance for unlimited members to avoid penalties.
Late Cancellations:
Unlimited Members: $10 late cancellation fee (goes up to $15 on February 1st)
4x- and 8x- Memberships: 1 credit forfeited
Class Packages: 1 credit forfeited
No-Shows:
Unlimited Members: $20 no-show fee
Packages and memberships: 1 class credit forfeited
Please note that exceptions to this policy are not typically granted, so we encourage you to plan ahead and manage your bookings accordingly.
When can I book classes?
All memberships and class packages operate on a 16-day booking window, meaning clients may reserve classes up to 16 days in advance.
If you are on a monthly auto-renew membership, the system assumes your membership will continue renewing each billing cycle unless a cancellation request is submitted. Because of this, you are able to book classes up to 16 days in advance, even if those reservations fall into your next billing cycle before you are billed.
How membership changes affect bookings:
If you make any changes to your membership, including (but not limited to):
downgrades
upgrades
billing date changes
cancellations
the system will automatically grace cancel all future reservations that fall outside of your currently paid billing cycle. Because these changes are system-controlled, we cannot guarantee that canceled reservations can be restored, and you may be placed 1st on a waitlist if a class fills.
Can minors attend classes?
A minor (15-18 years of age) may participate only with a parent or legal guardian present. No one under the age of 15 years may participate.
Do you offer membership holds?
Yes! Membership holds are available for a fee of $20 per freeze. Your hold can be from one week to 1 month. We make exceptions for medical holds with a doctors note.
Will I be photographed or filmed at events?
Yes. Photography and videography are part of Core Collective events. Attendance implies consent. If you have concerns about being photographed or filmed, we encourage you to reach out to us prior to purchasing a ticket so we can help clarify expectations. Please note that content capture is an integral part of our event experience and brand storytelling, and we are unable to guarantee exclusion from photography or videography at events.
Can I get a refund for an event ticket?
Refunds or credits are only available if you cancel at least 10 hours before the event start time or if you are not added from the waitlist.
When will I start feeling a difference in my body?
Every body is unique, but for most people, it takes about 5-10 classes to begin feeling noticeable improvements in strength, endurance, and overall confidence in class. To see the best results, we recommend starting your journey with at least two classes per week, and you can always increase your frequency as you go.
What should I bring to class?
For your safety, we require grip socks in class. If you don’t have any, we have a variety of stylish options available for purchase in the studio. We also recommend bringing a water bottle to stay hydrated and wearing clothing that’s comfortable and allows you to move freely.
If it’s your first class, we suggest arriving at least 10 minutes early so the instructor can walk you through the machine and get you familiar with the workout.
Do we have parking?
Yes! Our Northwest Portland location offers complimentary 1-hour parking across the street in the Uptown Shopping Center lot.
Our Northeast Portland location doesn’t have dedicated parking, but there is plenty of convenient street parking available in the surrounding neighborhood, making it easy to access.
How do I get into the building?
For our Northwest Portland location, the entry code will be sent to your email or text (if you’ve opted in) and can be found in your receipt email. Please make sure you have access to your email and opt-in for text message notifications to receive the code.
For our Northeast Portland location, no entry code is needed. Simply head in through the front door—easy access for all!
How do we get ahold of you?
We don’t have a direct phone number for the studio, as we prefer to manage all communications through email to provide the best service possible. This helps us keep track of all inquiries and ensure we respond in a timely and efficient manner.
If you have any questions or need assistance, please email us at hello@thecorecollective.co. We monitor our inbox regularly and will get back to you as soon as we can. For text-based communication, we do have a dedicated line through our Mariana Tek system, but email is the best and most reliable way to reach us.
How do I cancel a class?
You can cancel class through our app or through your account on our website.
Online:
Go to www.thecorecollective.co. Click on Account. Login to your account with your username and password. Navigate to Reservations. From there you can view the reservation you’d like to cancel and click the “Cancel Reservation” button. There is a confirmation screen that you want to cancel that reservation, make your selection and you have cancelled your class. If you receive email notifications, you’ll be notified of the reservation cancellation by the system.
Through our app:
On the main screen you can select your upcoming reservation and then click the “Cancel Reservation” button. A confirmation box will pop up to confirm your class cancellation selection. Once you confirm you will see the reservation move to “Past Reservations.”
What do I need for class?
Your favorite athletic clothes. A water bottle. Your best grip socks and a signed waiver. Haven’t signed the waiver yet? Sign it here. We’ll see you on the Megas!
How do waitlists work?
If a class is full, you may add yourself to the waitlist. Here’s how it works:
Clients are moved from the waitlist into class by the system up to 2 hours before the class start time. If you are opted into sms and email notifications you will receive updates.
If you are moved into class, you are automatically enrolled and we assume you are attending.
It is the client’s responsibility to monitor notifications and check their account schedule for updates.
If you are moved into class and can no longer attend:
You must cancel your reservation outside the cancellation policy to avoid late-cancel or no-show penalties even with waitlist reservations. Membership holders automatically receive their first late-cancel per month.
Helpful reminders:
Waitlist movement can happen quickly, especially close to class time.
Being on a waitlist means you are agreeing to attend if a spot becomes available.
If your schedule changes, please remove yourself from the waitlist.
Why do I have to pay to join an event waitlist?
Event waitlists require full payment because spots often open quickly and our booking platform requires payment in order to reserve space, even on the waitlist. If you are not added from the waitlist, you may request a refund or account credit.
Can I bring my child to the studio while I take class?
For safety and liability reasons, children are not permitted to remain in the studio or lounge area while a parent or guardian is taking class.
Our studio contains specialized equipment and moving machines, and we do not have the staffing capacity to supervise children during classes. To ensure the safety of everyone in the space and a consistent experience for all clients, we ask that childcare arrangements be made prior to attending class.
If you arrive with your child, our team will be happy to help you reschedule or cancel your reservation for that day without penalty.
We appreciate your understanding as we work to keep the studio safe and focused for everyone.

Event Reservations, Waitlists, Cancellations & Payments
All Core Collective events require full payment at the time of reservation, including reservations made for waitlisted spots. Due to the nature of event planning, venue coordination, staffing, and limited capacity, a paid ticket is required to reserve space on both the event roster and the waitlist. Waitlists move quickly, and guests should treat waitlisted reservations as if they are likely to be added.
If you are moved from the waitlist into the event, your paid ticket will automatically apply.

All events follow a 10-hour cancellation policy.
Cancellations must be made at least 10 hours prior to the start of the event to be eligible for a refund or account credit.
Cancellations made within 10 hours of the event start time, or after the event has begun, are not eligible for refunds or credits.
No-shows will forfeit the ticket.
If you remain on the waitlist and are not added by the start of the event, you may choose one of the following options:
A refund to the original payment method, or
Account credit to be used toward future classes, memberships, or events at The Core Collective.
Refunds or credits are not automatic and must be requested by contacting hello@thecorecollective.co prior to the event.
Additional Notes:
Tickets are non-transferable.
Event policies exist to ensure fairness to all attendees and to allow us to operate events sustainably as a small business.
